Section 26, The Public Elections Act, 2012

(1) The Registration Officer may, after considering a claimfor registration made under section 24, refuse to register the person if the Registration Officer is satisfied that he is not qualified for (2) Where the Registration Officer refuses to register a person, he shall– (a) make a record of his refusal, the reason for it and the date of the refusal and sign the record; and (b) inform the person that he may, in accordance with section 30, appeal against the refusal to the Electoral Commission.
