Section 7: Subject to such exceptions as may be prescribed, the

Commissioner or a Labour Official shall - (a) not have a direct or indirect interest in an undertaking or labour matter under his supervision or over which he presides; (b) not disclose information obtained by him in the exercise of duties under this Act, except so far as such information may be necessary for the performance of his duties; (c) treat, as absolutely confidential, the source of a complaint bringing to his notice a defect or breach of this Act and shall give no information to an employer or employee or his representative that action was taken in consequence of the receipt of such complaint.
