Section 21, Forestry Act 1988

(I) The Minister may by notice published in the Ga::elfe Protecteddeclare any area to be a protected area for p1;rposes of the Conserva- areas. tion of soil, water, flora ()r fauna. (2) In a protected area, no vegetation of such description a, may be specified in the notice declaring the area may be cut. hurned, uprooted, :lamaged or destroyed except with permission in writing from a forest officer. (3) The Minister may at ar,y time revoke or modify a uotice declaring a protec arra. £4) A:-notice d~cbring a protected area .shall expire after five years unless sonn-:r revoked.
