Section 31, Forestry Act 1988

(I) A forest Officer not below the rank of Assistant Con Comwu 11 uservator of Forests may, where he is satisfied that a person has com- ingofrnitted an offence against this Act or r~gulations made hereunder. offences. and such pcrwn consents in writing to compounding under this section, compound such offence by accepting- (a) a ,um of money not exceeding the value of the produce involve,1 or 0ne thousand leones which· ever is the higher; (h) the return of any forest produce. or the proceeds there.of, ;n respect or which the ofTence r.a, been co,11n1itted.
