The importer, other than a passenger importing firearmsand ammunition as aforesaid, shall at his own expense convey
all firearms and ammunition into the public warehouse appointed
for the purpose immediately after they have been landed, and
shall store them in the manner directed by the officer in charge
of such warehouse. ·
