Section 12, The Notaries Public Short title

All magistrates shall have and exercise the powers and Magistratetoduties of a Notary Public appointed by the Chief Justice under ~;;;o1:~;T;;s section 2, provided always that in any town or place in which a Public. Notary Public appointed by the Chief Justice under section 2 is available the powers and duties exercisable by magistrates shall be limited to the following matters, namely, the certification of acts of honour, the authentication of instruments, the . certification of copies of instruments and the attestation of instruments.
