Section 28, The Breast-Milk Substitutes Act, 2021

(1) On the receipt of a report from an inspector of aviolation of this Act under subsection (3) of section 25 the Committee shall, by an improvement notice served on a person who is deemed to be in contravention of this Act, - (a) state the grounds for believing that the person is failing to comply with this Act; (b) specify the matters which constitute the person's failure so to comply; (c) specify the measures which the person shall take in order to secure compliance; and (d) require the person to take those measures within such period as may be specified in the notice. (2) In addition to the powers conferred under Subsection (1), the Committee may, upon receiving a report from an inspector or other report of a violation of this Act, make a cease and desist order directing a person who is deemed to be in contravention of this Act to stop a particular activity or practice. (3) A person who fails to comply with an improvement notice or cease and desist order under subsection (1) or (2) commits 10,000,000.00 Leones or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 12
