Section 51, The Industrial Relations and Trade Union Act, 2024

(1) A registered trade union or employers' organisationmay change its name, subject to - (a) the approval in writing of the Registrar; (b) the consent of not less than two thirds of the members; (c) the payment of such fees as prescribed in the First Schedule. (2) A change of name under subsection (1), shall affect a right or obligation of the trade union or employers' organisation or of a member thereof, and any pending legal proceedings may be continued by or against the trustees of the trade union or employers' organisation or any other officer who may sue or be sued on behalf of such trade union or employers' organisation notwithstanding its new name.
